Meet Dane
Customer satisfaction through meaningful, in-person interaction has always been a cornerstone of Dane Scism’s vision for Cellular Sales. It’s this commitment to service that has distinguished our CEO along with the company itself, transforming what was once a small local business into the country’s premier Verizon retail partner.
Since buying Cellular Sales in 1993 with this wife, Margaret, Dane’s leadership has resulted in tremendous growth and success. From a single shopping center location and a handful of mall kiosks in East Tennessee, we have since expanded to nearly 800 stores across 41 states. He has brought more productivity per door than any other agent within Verizon’s indirect channel. Dane’s effective and inspiring leadership style was featured in Jeb Blount’s best-selling book, “People Follow You: The Real Secret to Inspiring Your Team to Take Action.”
Dane holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. In 2014, he was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” by UT’s Haslam School of Business. He has served on the board of directors for the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce and the executive cabinet for the United Way campaign for East Tennessee.
